High Deductible Plan F

Plan F comes with a high deductible option known as Medicare Supplement Plan F-High Deductible or High Deductible Plan F. 

​

With this option, you can enjoy Plan F benefits at a significantly lower monthly premium. These benefits include 100% coverage of the following:

​

  • Medicare Part A coinsurance and hospital costs up to an additional 365 days after Medicare benefits are used up

  • Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment

  • Medicare Part A deductible

  • Medicare Part B coinsurance or copayment

  • Medicare Part B deductible 

  • Medicare Part B excess charges

  • The first three pints of blood 

  • Foreign travel emergency medical costs (80%)

  • Skilled nursing facility care coinsurance

  • Medicare preventive care Part B coinsurance

However, you must have paid a deductible ($2,700 in 2023) before your Plan F coverage kicks in.  Your monthly premium depends on several factors, including where you live, age, gender, health status, and lifestyle habits.

Plan F-High Deductible is only available to those eligible for standard Medicare Supplement Plan F. That is, people who were qualified for Medicare before January 1, 2020.
